WhatsApp now lets you talk without an account

WhatsApp continues to make it easier to chat with people! The beta version of the app (2.25.22.13 for Android) will feature a chat option that allows people without an account to chat with those who have one.

What it is

Most likely, the feature will be called “guest chats,” which will allow users to interact with those who do not use the app in a future update.

How it works

Presumably, a temporary session will be created for this purpose, accessible via a generated link. To start a conversation, simply send the link to the desired contact, after which the conversation partner who does not have WhatsApp will join the dialogue.

You can send an invitation in any convenient way: either by SMS and email, or using other social platforms. This allows you to communicate with the other person without them having to install the messenger.

It is worth noting that guest chats will only work in individual messaging mode, so it will not be possible to invite others to join the conversation.

Why is this necessary

  • Security and encryption. Users can be sure that no one, not even WhatsApp, will be able to access their correspondence and read it.
  • Right of choice for users. According to EU laws on the right to choose digital communication methods, users are allowed to communicate with others in a way that is convenient for them.
  • Expanding the messenger’s capability. With this new feature, WhatsApp is increasing trust in the platform and expanding its functionality.

Platform restrictions

However, invited users will face a number of limitations, such as not being able to send photos, videos, and GIF files. They will also be unable to initiate audio and video calls or share audio and video messages.

Availability

This feature is currently in development and will be available in a future update of WhatsApp for Android. We will let you know as soon as it is ready.

Conclusion

The ability to invite third-party users without having to install WhatsApp is a significant improvement that will make communication between people in the messenger more convenient and give them the right to communicate without limits or restrictions.
